Orange Linckia Starfish - Linckia laevigata

A vibrant and eye catching starfish prized for its smooth body and rich orange coloration. This species adds a natural reef aesthetic and is best suited for mature well established marine aquariums.

Care Level:
Advanced. Sensitive to water quality changes and requires a stable long term system.

Temperament:
Peaceful. Non aggressive and compatible with other calm reef inhabitants.

Reef Compatibility:
Reef safe. Does not bother corals or invertebrates.

Diet:
Specialized feeder. Grazes on biofilm microalgae and naturally occurring microorganisms within live rock. Supplemental feeding is difficult and success depends on a mature aquarium.

Minimum Tank Size:
Seventy five gallons or larger with ample live rock and established surfaces.

Notes:
Not recommended for new systems. Slow acclimation is critical as this species is highly sensitive to salinity and parameter swings. Best kept by experienced reef keepers.
